The latest major content update is now live for Grim Dawn! With this update. “The 'spiritual successor' to Diablo 2 that fans have been pining about for years.”. Mar 07, 2016  As I've only had a few days to play Grim Dawn vs. Four Years this might be a bit premature to say but. Delete5230 Member Epic Posts: 5,564. August 2017 in Diablo 3. Diablo 3 is on the most casual side. Until you get late into it and start Greater Rift pushing, you're unlikely to be challenged by most anything. However, it has the best end-game of frequent loot drops, no real skill tree lockout, and is very easy to.

As I've only had a few days to play Grim Dawn vs. Four Years this might be a bit premature to say but. Remember that 'feeling' you got when you played D2(Two no typo), when it always felt fun no matter what act you were in or what you were doing and you just couldn't get enough. Grim Dawn brings back that feeling. It's probably in short called addiction.

Anywho, I just can't play D3 for longer than a month or two after every patch. Someone said there is only an illusion of diversity, which is true but I'm starting to think it's an illusion of fun.So far what I've noticed with GD is that it has a little of everything I liked from recent and past ArpgMMO. D3 on the otherhand is stuck trying to be the next big thing. For myself it's not lasting long enough.

I'm not here to bash on D3, I like the game, just have to be honest when it comes to my idea of overall fun. D3 is fun, it has it's points that make you enjoy it.

It remind me of a sucker, you can only lick it so much then it's gone. How long it lasts depends on how fast you can eat it. I'll be back next patch I'm sure. For now, rather once again I'm gonna play something else till a new patch comes out. If you feel D3 is also a bit stale during Season X or Patch 2.XX. Give GD a try.

Might help relieve some of the WTF is going on tension that seems to come after a patch.See ya next season. Enjoy your time no matter what you play or what you do.P.S. I do not work for any developers.

I'm not trying to sale you anything but my opinion - it's on the house =). Moved this to the correct forums (other games).I haven't played Grim Dawn, but looked at some reviews and gameplay and talked to other people who play it. I think it's a bit a question of flavor which one you prepare, and also there's absolutely no way to tell how many people will play Grim Dawn in a few months - given how recently the game came out.In my personal opinion, Grim Dawn cannot be compared to D3 on PC, but rather D3 on console: it seems very action-packed and quite polished, and short-term as well as casual it will be very enthralling. When it comes to addressing D3's issue though - the problems in endgame and competition, in particular cheating - Grim Dawn will end up being even worse due to the fact that it's already a hacking festival compared to D3 on console.I think it's a nice alternative for people who - for whatever reason - dislike D3 temporarily or permanently. But it's not gonna be the savior game some people might be looking for. I agree, when you realize you're bored is when you should probably move on.

Thing about D3, they remove the boring each patch but I just can't find the grind in me to keep going. I have to disagree that it's not a flaw of the game.

If you played at launch or pre-RoS and understand the changes it has went through, it just seems like anymore bnet is trying ti 'fix' the game instead of 'add-on' to it.I admit using a game like D2 was a bad example of an unflawed game that had enough content and design to be fun no matter how long you played. Not myself, some people STILL play it after ten years, most of us played it for five or so years before we quit. Let's take Final Fantasy 11.

Mind you, I'm not trying to use the games mechanics or designs as what made them last, but the idea that they're fun and they had extended shelf lives. Both are games lasting over 10 years and people find enjoyable. That's why I'm posting this.

I know a lot of people are upset or bored. Thus far I'm not bored at all with GD. I won't be the last person to tell you you might be right, I might think it's stale in a few months and drag myself back to D3 or something else thats hyped up at the time =) In my opinion, it's worth a look if you can't find yourself enjoying D3. I even noted that or tried to when I said, GD has a little of all arpg/mmo I'm familiar with.

It seems to remind me most of D2. But it has mechanics I've seen in WoW, D2,D3, POE and Final Fantasy 11 all rolled into one. Them things I'm sure are in a lot of games, but in my list of games I played the things that made them unique, GD has them all. Which in the end makes it absolutely different than almost anything I've played =( Guess I oughta play more Arpg lolPlease understand I'm not trying to knock D3. I've played since D1 (started right before D2 came out so that's not a huge memory) D1 that is. There's a lot of layers to GD that I've only seen games have one of. Example, FF11 was the first and only game I've played that allowed a sub class.

I know since then it's been in other games, for my experience, limited as it is, things like this are what makes it good. The UI and play styles is what makes it recognizable. It really is to me, a Word of Warcraft/Diablo 2/POE/FF11 clone all meshed into one. Different for sure, yet recognizeably the same. I think that 'difference' is what's really appealing me the most to it.
